New Uniform Order & Entry to Noosa Winter Festival

New Uniform Order We are putting in a uniform order at the end of this week. Champ Systems (where we get our uniforms from) is really flat out at the moment so it may take the full 5 weeks to receive the order, so I want to put it in as early as possible to make sure we receive the uniforms before the next major racing event. If you would like to see it, let me know at training or email. Entry to the Noosa Winter Festival We will be entering as a team into this event. Please enter online as an individual: - Go to www.usmevents.com.au - Find and click on the Noosa winter festival - click on 'Entry ' then enter online. - Fill out fields as an individual entry, then on the smae page as event selection tick 'Scody Largest Team' and enter Brisbane Run Squad. - That's it. Saturday Session & Twilight Results

Saturday Morning 26th March

It's on again!!! This Saturday session will be cross training at Studio Rise on the Spin Bikes.

When: Saturday 26th March 6:30am start
Where: Studio Rise Personal Training Studio
6-7 Byres St, Newstead
What: Cycling is a great way to cross train for running. Building leg strength and muscle to
increase speed and reduce the risk of injury.
To Bring: Towel, drink bottle and running gear.
Cost: $10 members / $13 non-members

We need to get a minimum of 20 people to this session to pay for the Studio Rental so come and join us for a great cross-training session.

Twilight Results

On Sunday 20th March over 40 BRSers ventured forward to the University of Queensland for the annual Twilight Run Festival. The day was wet but spirits were not dampened as we put in a showing for all the events 1km, 3km, 10km and 21km.

Our youngest member Mikaela ran over half way without stopping during her 1km race, finishing with a time of 6:20!

Other junior BRSers Noah, Maddison and Matt C competed in the 3km race. With young Matty C coming 3rd overall.

A massive showing for the 10km with everyone doing a great job on the slow difficult course and 8 members competing in the 21km event, all posting great times.

Well done to all who competed.

Twilight Event This Sunday 20th March

Meeting Point

This year we plan to meet in the same place as last year, the grassy mound near the netball courts at the river end of the athletics track. We will be there from 2:45pm.

Race Pack Collection

Don't forget to pick up your race packs. These can be collected from:
Intraining Running Centre, Milton 9 - 5 Friday 18th and Saturday 19th
or
from 2:30pm on race day at the event.

Start Times

10km - 3:30pm
1km Kids - 4:45pm
21km - 5:00pm
3km - 5:15pm

If you want to participate but haven't entered? Nicole has an entry for the 10km that she can transfer. Please let us know asap.

Twilight Recce Run & Cook Islands

Twilight Recce Run

We will be doing a reconnaissance or the Twilight Run this Sunday 13th March. This will be instead of the scheduled Saturday morning session.

Where: UQ, carpark opposite the Athletics Centre

We will be doing a 10km run following the circuit of the Twilight Race. This is designed to familiarise runners with the track so everyone knows hwere they are going. One less hting to have to worry about.

Cook Islands Race

Thanks to those who attended our Cook Island Info Session last week.
Darren from Fit4Travel attended to talk about the travel and event side of things & Matt and I talked about the training and BRS lead up.

Remember you have plenty of time to decide. 12th April is D day to decide, lock yourself in and pay the airfare.

Fit4Travel will manage all of our travel arrangements and bookings.....and BRS will manage the training, so easy.
