Events:
I know many of you are aiming for events at the Brisbane Marathon Festival a month later, but here are some other events you may be interested in.

Brisbane Sky Run in July (the old Mousdash!)
Sunday July 13th

This is no average ‘fun run’, it’s tough (tougher than most we think), which makes conquering it that much sweeter.

The Brisbane Sky Run offers a brand new challenge in the heart of the running season on Sunday July 13.
Both the 5km & 10.5km courses take you up and over the Mt Coot-tha Summit, Brisbane’s highest peak.  We’ll have some great entertainment on-course to keep you moving and prizemoney up for grabs if you think the course records are within reach.
It’s time to set your sights higher – join us on Sunday July 13 and take up the challenge.

Sumerset Rail Trail Fun Run
Sunday July 13th

12th Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run.  Challenge yourself on the 8.3km or 3km run along the historic Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, join in the festivities at the finish line and then take in the sights, sounds and tastes of our unique tourist destinations to “make a day of it”.

Jetty2Jetty Sunday July 20th

Half Marathon, 10km, 5km - a nice scenic run at Redcliffe.

If you are doing the marathon, you should have started the tapering off on your long sessions at least this week. Its about maintenance, injury prevention and mental strength now!! If its your first half marathon, same goes! If you are doing the 10km event, attending regular BRS sessions will effectively be your taper.

Camp Wrap, Saturday Session + Breaky, Events next weekend

Binna Burra, what a BLAST!!!

Last weekend was our 2nd BRS Camp - a 3 day trail running camp at Binna Burra in the Gold Coast Hinterland, it was absolutely magical and from all accounts a success!!!!

We started Friday night with a 5km night trail run! Armed with headlights and a spooky sense of adventure we headed out! Only a few stumbles and we made it back safe and sound to be rewarded with a 3 course meal in the lodge!!

Saturday - a sleep in, YES!! we met at 7:30am for a SAFE breaky, then hit the wet, rainy trails for 3.5 hours of amazing scenery, plenty of leeches, lots of laughs, and of course lots of running. Everybody covered between 18 and 28km! Top effort all around!!

We headed to the cafe for a very well deserved lunch....plenty of burgers, chips, and coffee....then back to watch Saint Ralph, an inspirational running movie and a good chance for a relax, stretch and roll!

Jaryd from Shoes Feet Gear adapted his afternoon session (due to the rainy weather) to take us through some undercover technique drills!

Then it was time to unwind over a complimentary cheese platter and a few beers/vinos before hitting the lodge for dinner!

We were on the trail (raining again!) by 6am Sunday morning for a 12km trail adventure - with plenty of hills and lookouts but not so many leeches!!

We finished the weekend with a scrumptious buffet breaky and a good old debrief!

We are so so proud of every runner that took part. They ran through the rain, darkness, fatigue, mountains and leeches without a complaint......ok so some complained about the leeches!!

Everybody accomplished a first on the weekend, first trail run, first time running 3 days in a row, first time over 30km in a weekend, longest run ever, etc etc......WITH no serious stacks!!!

A massive congratulations to all who participated!!!
